Researches of Prof. HuishengPeng Group respectively became the cover story ofAngewChemand Adv Mater

Prof. Huisheng Peng Group recently developed a novel soft linear integrated device with oriented carbon nanotubes as electrode, which could convert solar energy into electrical energy and store this energy. The total efficiency of photoelectric conversion and storage reached 1.5%. These results have been accepted by Angewandte Chemie International Edition (IF=13.5) and published online (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201207023). All the referees agreed that “it use a very simple and low cost method. This is the first demonstration of integrated energy generation and storage in a single wire”, “which is a critical step for the all-fiber textile energy systems” and “This matter indicates a novel and promising trend in the development of new generation photovoltaics”. This article was rated as a VIP (Very Important Paper). Only less than 5% papers could be viewed as VIPs, and this research was chosen as the cover story by the editor.

At the same, this group developed a new linear lithium ion battery using oriented carbon nanotube complex fibers as electrode. These results were published in Advanced Materials (IF=13.9). All the referees thought “The authors presented a new concept for both wire-shaped micro-supercapacitor and micro-battery based on the twisting carbon nanotube fibers.
